DAY 1 – Policoro, the Pantano forest and the sea
Arrival in Policoro and hotel accommodation. Arriving in the morning, in addition to a nice swim in the Ionian Sea, you can tackle an easy ride towards Bosco Pantano, a natural reserve and the last example of a humid plain forest in southern Italy. Overnight.
DAY 2 – Rotondella and the apricots
A day among the orchards of the coast will take you up to Rotondella. Surrounded by a sea of apricot groves, it dominates the plain with a view that embraces the gulf from Puglia to Calabria. Continue until you reach the National Archaeological Museum of Siritide, within the archaeological area of Siris-Herakleia, inside which some of the most significant finds relating to the two Greek cities and the indigenous centers of the hinterland are exhibited.
Distance: 62 Km.
DAY 3 – Tursi and the peaches
Going up the orchards along the left bank of the Sinni river, you will first stop at the Sanctuary of Anglona, rich in medieval frescoes, and then continue to Tursi (beautiful view from the Rabatana district, of Arab origins). Tursi is surrounded by orange groves and white “percoche” trees (typical peaches), with a unique taste. Return to Policoro. Overnight.
Distance: 50 km.
